Under the Hood: ACTS Church

Get a look under the hood of healthy Reproducing Churches.

ACTS Church Lakeway sprang into existence in 2001 after Pastor Bob Mueller was asked by the Texas District LCMS to launch a new church in the Lake Travis area of Austin. Bob and his wife Shauna and family soon began hosting a small group in their home for Bible study and discussion. This group prayed that God would give them the opportunity to communicate with those who were disconnected from God and from the local church. Initially gathering under the name CrossBridge Community Church, this hard-working group consistently reached out to other individuals and families with surprising acts of kindness. They began meeting regularly for contemporary worship services in a local community center and later in Lake Travis Schools.

After the Mueller family relocated to New Jersey in late 2007, the church went through a period of soul-searching. Convinced that their presence in the Lakeway area was as vital as ever, they invited Pastor Pete Mueller of Ellisville, MO, to re-launch their mission effort. In the spring of 2009, shortly after Pete’s move to Texas, the church took a deep breath of faith and purchased a recently-constructed commercial building on Ranch Road 620 in Lakeway to serve as the headquarters for their growing ministry. ACTS Church Lakeway was launched in the summer of 2009, and the congregation intentionally began living out the values of Adventure, Community, Transformation, and Sending.

By registering for this FREE Exponential Webinar, you gain access to our Online Community that offers four weekly church leader programs and additional free resources for your church multiplication journey.

A growing number of church leaders are longing for something more than just adding attendees to our services, programs to our churches, and begging week in and week out for volunteers. They long to see disciplemaking-based kingdom multiplication. They long to become Reproducing Churches.

Exponential began wondering what it would look like to build a community of Reproducing Churches that cared more about WHO they were catapulting and sending forward than WHAT they were accumulating and leaving behind. That led to an inaugural list in 2019 of Outreach Magazine’s List 0f 100 Reproducing Churches. And that community continues to grow.

Exponential is a growing community of leaders committed to accelerating the multiplication of healthy, reproducing faith communities. We exist to equip movement makers – like you – with actionable principles, ideas and solutions.  With these webinars, you’ll get a chance to hear in more detail, what it takes to become a Level 4  Reproducing Church.

We are passionate about accelerating multiplication through movement makers!

We are better together!

“I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one—I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”
John 17:22-23
