Monday, August 10 at 2:00 p.m.

Frontlines
An Online, Interactive, Weekly Show, Tackling Current Issues Facing Pastors and Planters
Episode 1 — An Introduction

The Frontlines program seeks to encourage and equip pastors and planters to better understand and navigate the current and future trends in church ministry. Hosted by veteran church multiplication leaders, each episode invites thought leaders and advanced practitioners in ministry to inform and inspire pastors and planters as they continue in day-to-day ministry.

The uncertainty, stress, and loneliness affecting church planters and pastors seems like it is at an all-time high. Each week, church leaders are faced with more and more complex issues to solve and decisions to make. And, even the best decisions made by church leadership teams seem to only result in more uncertainty and questioning by their congregation. This twelve episode, weekly show will host conversations on the current issues church leaders are facing. Being on the frontlines of Kingdom advancement as pastor or church planter is a constant barrage of uncertainty and challenges.

Join us for the inaugural show with Peyton Jones and Daniel Yang as they introduce this new show, discuss their backgrounds, and give an overview of future episodes.

DR. john perkins

Dr. John Perkins has been married to his wife, Dr. Vera Mae, for over 68 years (1951). In 1983, while in California, John and Vera Mae, along with his family and a few friends and other major supporters, established the John M. Perkins Foundation for Reconciliation & Development (now called John and Vera Mae Perkins Foundation) for the sole purpose of supporting their mission of advancing the principles of Christian community development (CCD) and Reconciliation throughout the world.

John M. Perkins was born in 1930, a sharecropper’s son who grew up in New Hebron, Mississippi amidst dire poverty. His mother died of a malnutrition disease called Pellagra when John was only 7 months old. Fleeing to California at age 17 after his older brother’s murder at the hands of a town marshal, he vowed never to return. However, after his conversion to Christianity in 1957 and three-year discipleship, he and his young family returned to his home State of Mississippi in 1960 to share the Good News of God’s love. While in Mississippi, his outspoken nature, as well as his support and leadership in Civil Rights demonstrations and voter registrations resulted in repeated harassments, beatings and imprisonments. Dr. Perkins was again arrested in 2005 in Washington, DC while protesting U.S. Government defunding of programs aiding the poor.

Despite being a third-grade drop-out, Perkins has been recognized for his work with fifteen honorary doctorates from colleges and universities across the country. John is also a best-selling author who has authored 18 books including his classic autobiography Let Justice Roll Down.

We are better together!

“I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one—I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”
John 17:22-23
