Fulfilling God’s Purpose In and Through Your Family

Episode 1: What is a Missional Family?

Join us each week for a new episode of this five-part series with Dr. P.C. Mathew as he discusses how being missional starts right in our homes.

God puts us in families to grow in relationships as we walk together, share together, love together, cry together, and grow together. This is indeed in the Creator’s purpose—but is there a grander purpose beyond this?

In this series based on his book, Dr. P.C. Mathew reveals five distinct characteristics of a missional family to help every Christian family discover God’s grander purpose for them by being partners of God’s mission. He also walks through how to write your own family mission statement focused on fulfilling God’s purpose.

The content in this series can help the families in your ministry reflect the deep relationship that exists in the Trinity and be engaged together to accomplish the task of God.

The media constantly bombards us with messages of what the ‘perfect family’ should look like. And yet, families today are falling apart for various reasons. Beneath the fall outs, a common pattern emerges—one of failed expectations. Before we can engage with the world and change it, we need to engage with our families in worship.

In this session, Dr. P.C. Mathew explains ways in which our families can intentionally become missional through actions that are authentic and reflect Christ. He introduces the first characteristic of a missional family—one that spends time together with God, growing in intimacy with him and each other.

We are better together!

“I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one—I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”
John 17:22-23
